I love to have a clean house and I do as much as I can to keep everything in order. Now, while I love my rooms to be clean, I don’t necessarily enjoy cleaning itself. This is only because some things are quite hard to deal with, for example, stubborn stains that you need special tools or cleaners to remove or hard to reach areas where the dust piles up. These I call “trouble spots” and I usually leave them for later 🙂 Yes, well, maybe not the best strategy because I get to keep the hardest when I have the least energy…but what can I do, it’s who I am.
One of the things I left for later is cleaning grout in my bathroom. I haven’t done this in a while because it happened that I changed my apartment two times and each time I got away with major cleaning adventures. But now I have to do this and do it properly. I’ve read a couple of blog posts and sites that have all the information required for proper cleaning of grout tiles. I have to say, we live in a wonderful time. 20 years ago, you would have to ask your mother or father about how things are done, and we all know where that might lead to. Asking friends was another option, but still, you couldn’t find a person that knows everything. I remember my parents telling me how little did they know about things relating to home and maintenance. You had to read a magazine or two on a regular basis to keep up with all the DIY things you needed to do.
Anyways, I’m fully prepared to clean my bathroom now. It’s actually a bigger adventure that I thought it would be, so I’m leaving this for the weekend. I will need the floor to dry completely after I clean it so I can apply the grout sealer properly. I read interesting things about this on this blog. It’s a helpful blog, everything you need to know about grout sealing is there, so if you want to do the entire process by yourself – from cleaning to sealing, which products to choose and tools to use, this is one of the places to visit.
I’ll let you know how about the results I achieve soon. Wish me luck!
